In partnership with Manilla Central School, TFSS will be hosting the first ever One Stop Shop in Manilla, to help create an accessible place for services and community to connect.

The Manilla One Stop Shop will take place on Tuesday 7 May, from 3:30pm until 5pm at the Secondary Campus on Wilga Avenue.

TFSS Community Development Worker Danny Dalton said that people can expect an enjoyable afternoon with free entertainment, and conversations with community support services.

“One Stop Shops help provide community members with convenient access to some essential community support services. A simple conversation could help save time that would otherwise be spent on travelling to other regional centres.”

“Thank you to the Benevolent Society (BENSOC), Centrelink, Northcott, New Horizons, Carers NSW, Services NSW, Hunter New England LHD, TAMS, PCYC, JobLink Plus for supporting the event,” said Mr Dalton.

Manilla Central School Principal Shane Kelly welcomed the initiative to the school community.

“We are looking forward to having conversations with services to hopefully cement partnerships that better supports school and community engagement.”

“Any opportunity to bring together families, students, teachers, and support services is a big win in my view. Thank you to everyone who supported the event,” said Mr Kelly.

Aboriginal Education Officer Kristy Cooke said that she had been involved in previous One Stop Shops in her previous role.

“Ever since I started this role at Manilla Central School, I wanted to bring the One Stop Shop to Manilla to help give our community similar opportunities.”
