Our organisation was proud to participate in a range of NAIDOC Week 2026 events across the New England North West, joining communities in celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, history, achievements and resilience.

Throughout NAIDOC Week, our team attended over a dozen events across Tamworth, Armidale, Quirindi, Wee Waa and Narrabri. Each event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with community members, local organisations, Elders, families and young people while recognising the significant contributions of First Nations people.

We would like to thank the local committees /organisers, Elders, community leaders, performers and volunteers who made each event such a success. Their dedication and commitment created welcoming spaces where culture could be celebrated and shared with pride. Sora is proud to have staff on multiple NAIDOC Committees in the region.

As an organisation, we remain committed to building respectful relationships, strengthening partnerships and supporting initiatives that promote reconciliation, inclusion and cultural understanding. The experiences and connections made throughout NAIDOC Week 2026 will continue to inspire our work and reinforce the importance of walking together towards a stronger, more inclusive future.

We look forward to continuing our engagement with communities across the region and supporting opportunities to celebrate and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures throughout the year.
